• Lead Paint Assessment: If there are existing paint coatings, we need to determine if they contain lead. We will conduct tests as required to ensure the safety and compliance of the project with health regulations.

• Setting Expectations: We want to ensure that the outcome meets or exceeds your expectations. Therefore, establishing your "level of expectation" is critical. We will discuss what you hope to achieve with this project.

• Time Frame Determination: We will talk about your desired timeline, including the start and completion dates for the project. This helps us plan effectively and manage our resources efficiently.

• Special Conditions: We will note any special conditions at your work site, such as the presence of children or pets, to ensure their safety and well-being during the project.

• Crew Presence and Concerns: Discussing the crew's presence in your home is essential. We will address any concerns you might have about the team working in your living space to ensure a comfortable experience.

YOUR PAINTING PROJECT BID

• Area Measurement: We begin by measuring the total surface area that needs to be painted. With over 35 years of experience, Western Accents can accurately estimate the labor and material costs based on these measurements and comparisons to previous projects.

• Surface Evaluation: We will evaluate the composition and condition of the surfaces to be painted. This step is crucial to ensure that the final result meets your expectations. Sometimes, clients expect the painted surface to be restored to its original condition, which requires more than just a simple repaint.

• Surface Repair and Preparation: Any necessary surface repairs or preparation will be itemized and explained. We will inform you why these steps are crucial for achieving a high-quality finish.

• Identifying Obstacles: We will identify any obstacles, such as plants or tight corners that are difficult to reach, to ensure smooth project execution.

• Coatings and Color Schemes: Determining whether to use paint or stain, as well as choosing between dark and light colors, is part of the bid process. Some colors may require multiple coats, and we will plan accordingly.

• Color Placement: We will establish where trim and accent colors will be placed, ensuring a cohesive and visually pleasing result.

SCHEDULING YOUR PAINTING PROJECT

• Exterior Projects: Exterior painting projects require flexibility due to weather conditions and other unforeseen factors. We will provide you with an accurate start date and keep you updated as the work progresses.

• Interior Projects: For interior projects, we will set up a detailed schedule with a defined start and estimated end date. If you have specific deadlines or goals, it's important to communicate them so we can plan accordingly.

YOUR PAINTING WORK BEGINS

• Arrival Day: On the first day, you will meet the Western Accents team leader and the team members who will be working on your project. Feel free to ask any questions; our painters are experienced professionals and well-versed in the specifics of your project.

• Work in Progress: During the project, we strive to maintain a professional and non-intrusive presence. However, due to the nature of the work, complete invisibility or silence is not always possible. If you have any concerns, please address them with any member of the team, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

• Professional Conduct: Our painters are instructed not to play radios or smoke on-site to maintain professionalism. At the end of each day, we clean up as much as possible, although sometimes masking and drop cloths may need to be left overnight to avoid additional costs.

COMPLETING WORK

• Walk-Through Inspection: As the project nears completion, a team member will conduct a walk-through with you to inspect the work. This is the time to address any areas that need further attention.

• Job Completion: Upon job completion, we will ask you to sign a project acceptance sheet, indicating your satisfaction with the work. Payment is expected at this time unless other arrangements have been made.

• Evaluation: Your feedback is invaluable to us. Western Accents is a "continuous learning" company, and every project is an opportunity to improve our services.
